Support and Relationships

‘Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ ‘
(Galatians 6:2)

The Western world is highly individualistic, unlike the world of Asia and Africa,
where family is valued very highly.
For a family to prosper it needs love between the members.
But it is also greatly helped by the loving care of those beyond:
neighbours, the extended family and the church family.
Grandparents and Godparents can play a vital role in raising children and sustaining family life.
There are many ways in which this can happen, but the chief obligation is prayer.
The prayers of a faithful grandparent are very significant indeed. It is a key way of bearing each other’s burdens.

Question for thought: Am I caring for my family and other families in my church and neighbourhood?

Gracious Lord, this week we pray for members in London and Rochester in England.
We pray as members explore what they can do to help make a difference to people’s
lives from the newborn to the elderly, for the prison ministry and supporting the homeless.
May your name be gloried in all they do. In Jesus’ name. Amen
