Thanks for God’s Love
‘This is love: not that we loved God,
but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins’.
(1 John 4:10)
We do love and we are expected to love. But our love finds it origin in God’s love,
and his love is marvellously shown in the death of Jesus for us.
If he sent his Son to die for us, how deeply must we be loved.
Understanding that we are loved, and seeing the proof of it in the cross,
sets us free to love God and love others as a proper response.
As John also says, ‘We love because he first loved us’ (1 John 4:19).
Question for thought: Do I realise how deeply God loves me?
Merciful Lord we bring our members in Tanzania before you and particularly in the Diocese of Tanga.
Pray that they will be able to care for those in need especially vulnerable children,
widows and people living with HIV/AIDS.
We pray too, for Mothers Union in Melbourne, giving thanks for Karen Hayden, the President,
as she visits and encourages branches and as they seek
to reach out and promote the ministry of Mothers Union.
Give them wisdom O Lord, we pray. Amen
