Education for Life
Jesus said: ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light’
(Matthew 11:28-30).
Most of us can look back to school days and remember who our favourite teacher was.
Sometimes we can even recall a special moment when we learned something life-changing.
But even if you cannot think of such a person, as a Christian you have the supreme Teacher.
Jesus invites us to come to him, cast our cares upon him and learn from him.
The wonderful thing is that even if a person is illiterate, or a slow learner,
the education Jesus gives us is life-changing and saving. Walking with him,
learning from him, accepting his leadership is the key to life.
Even a person who has all the degrees in the world may be foolish
when it comes to what matters in life.
True wisdom is what we need and what we learn from the Master.
Question for thought: What is the secret of learning from Jesus?
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the relationship Armidale Diocese
NSW has with North Kigezi in Uganda. We pray that the support given to ministry families
in North Kigezi will enable them to sustain their families.
We ask as members in North Kigezi visit the sick, bereaved and female prisoners
they will remind them of the Lord being their shepherd. AMEN.
