Resurrection glory

New Life starts here! So many enticing promises from so many schemes, programmes…
but nothing is simple or easy. Even going to an exercise class takes courage,
a little death like the humiliation of putting the wrong foot first.
St Paul, the persecutor turned advocate and theological adviser, knew what that was like.
Conversion was one thing, building his credibility quite another. Paul went into the desert for two years.
Perhaps we need more Lents and Holy Weeks, or recovery from times
of oppression or suffering to walk in newness of life – free at last!

Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death,
so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,
so we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans: 6:4

In South Sudan Mothers Union outreach work in Peace and Reconciliation assists recovery from civil war.
Participants learn to walk in newness of life. May they find resurrection glory.
