Racial Equality

‘From one man he made all the nations…’
(Acts 17:26)

We human beings are very tribal. We wrongly favour our own people.
We judge others harshly. But it is sin which has made us like this,
and we need the reminder of God’s word, that all humans are made in the image of God, and all are from one.
We should repent of the sin of racism and remember the great truth of the Bible.
We are not equal in strength or skill or learning – but we are all equal in value.
When we act out racism, we are affronting the God who has made us equal.

Question for self: Do I love all my neighbour as myself?

Merciful Lord, we pray for the Dioceses of Kano and Kara in Nigeria.
Protect them in times of persecution and help them to be faithful to you in the midst of such difficulties.
Give thanks for the many opportunities for women and girls to reach their full potential.
We bring before you the Diocese of Armidale in NSW as they meet
around God’s word and serve and reach out in Jesus’ name in their communities. Amen
