Peace with Creation
‘The righteous care for the needs of their animals’
(Proverbs 12:10)
The wonders of this world are the products of the genius of the one God
who has made them all and who owns them all (see Job 38-41).
He set humanity in the world as his image bearers to rule over it, but not to exploit and distort it.
That behaviour is the product of human sin. Rather, we are to care for creation.
Thus, when human beings rest on the sabbath day,
so too do their animals according to the ten commandments.
To those who can see it, the world shows forth the glories of God.
When we see its majesty, we should lift our hearts in worship to God.
Question for thought: Do I care for the needs of God’s creation?
God of the nations, we pray for Uganda and especially
for members in the Dioceses of North Mbale and Namirembe.
We thank you that for over a hundred years they have been active in promoting
Christ’s teaching and supporting stable family life across the country.
Pray that God’s name will be honoured in the dioceses we are praying for this week,
as they help individuals, families and communities. Amen
