Women of Influence

‘She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue’
Proverbs 31:26.

Some of the greatest rulers in English history have been the Queens
– Elizabeth I, Victoria and in our own time Elizabeth II.
The impact for good of Elizabeth II was obvious in the sorrow surrounding her passing.
Each of these women was a force for good, surrounded by a Court, clothed in riches,
housed in palaces. But ordinary people, and especially women,
are also a force for good in the key influence that we have in the lives of others.
Especially those who fear the Lord will speak with wisdom and faithful instruction
and so shape the lives of many others with whom they come into contact.
But the key to this  success and influence is our fear of the Lord,
our faithful submission to him. Then he will gift us with wise speech if we follow his ways.

Question for thought: Do I ask the Lord for wisdom in my speech?

Almighty God, we bring before you members in Bujumbura, Burundi as they seek your
heavenly wisdom as to how to address domestic violence and other family issues.
May peace and reconciliation be at the heart of what they do
and may they know the peace which passes all understanding.
We pray for our members in Grafton Diocese NSW as they serve you
and do the good work you’ve prepared for them to walk in. Amen.
