New Life in Christ
‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:
the old has gone, and the new is here!’
(2 Corinthians 5: 17)
When the Lord Jesus was raised from the dead, the future began.
It will not reach its fullness until he comes again.
But those who are in Christ through faith, are sharing that future with him.
We already have forgiveness of sins, before the day of judgement.
We already have the certainty of defeat of death and being with the Lord when we die.
We already have the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Of these things we may be sure, not because we are good people, but because our Saviour is great.
Question for thought: Am I living the new life in Christ?
Heavenly Father we pray for our sisters in Ontario, Canada where meeting together is difficult due to vast distances.
May their many community activities bring honour
and glory to your name so people will know your saving love.
Also we pray for our members in Brisbane Diocese
as they reach out through its projects that are supported by branches. Amen.
