Sunday 28th May

God s Power and Glory

‘Exalted to the right hand of God, (Jesus) has received from his
Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you see and hear.
(Acts 2:33)

Jesus has left us for the time being, but in fact he is present with us through the Holy Spirit.
Each believer receives the Spirit, and it is by the power and presence of the
Spirit that we call Jesus our Lord and God our Father. He bears witness to Jesus. He brings us to new birth.
He prays for us. He enables us to bear good fruit for God. He leads us in the paths of righteousness.
He is God s indwelling presence with us, changing us from one degree of glory
to another and so preparing us for our future home.
To God, the Father, the Son and the Spirit, be all praise and thanks!

Question for thought: Do I think of the Spirit personally, or do I call him it.

Heavenly Father we bring before you Mothers’ Union in Okene and Ibadan-South in Nigeria.
Help them to stand firm in face of persecution and give them wisdom
in creating opportunities for women and young girls to reach their full potential.
