Belonging to Each Other
‘Now you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it’
(1 Corinthians 12:27)
We are very different from each other, even when we attend a church
where everyone speaks the same language and was born in the same country.
There are differences in experience, in personality, in giftedness. How much more are these
differences obvious if we think of the worldwide membership of the Mothers Union.
But the differences are not as important as the fact that Christians are baptised
by the one Holy Spirit so as to form one body, and we therefore belong to one another.
What a joy it is to have that experience of being in unity with those who are so different from us!
What a privilege!
Question for thought: Do I let differences stand in the way of my union with brothers and sisters in Christ?
Almighty God, we pray for members in the Diocese of Marsibit in drought prone north Kenya.
We pray for them as they cope with significant poverty and the increasing influence of Islam.
Give wisdom in their contact with new members and as they reach out to many needs facing families.
We also pray for the Diocese of Ballarat and for Jillian Gale as President.
We ask that all their activities will show your love and mercy. Amen.
