Unity in Diversity
‘Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy,
cleansing her with the washing of water through the word,
and to present her to himself as a radiant church,
without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish,
but holy and blameless’
(Ephesians 5:25).
There are so many churches in the world that it is bewildering.
A small country town of 2000 people can have eight different churches.
Which one should you attend? Well, of course, that choice can be important because of differences in teaching.
But first and foremost, we must remember that there is only one church, the one for which he died.
All who belong to him are members of that church, even if we are too sick to attend our local church,
and one day we will all gather around the Lord in the heavenly world and rejoice together.
Our future is church, the place of forgiveness, love, peace and joy.
Question for thought: How did Christ show his love for the Church?
Almighty God, as we come to a new year, we give thanks for the leadership
of Sheran Harper our Past President, and we bring before you the new
Worldwide President, Kathleen Snow.
Grant her wisdom in her new position and in the many decisions she makes.
We pray too, for the Worldwide Trustees and particularly our new Zone C trustee,
Dorothy Siep from Papua New Guinea.
Uphold Dorothy as she supports and encourages the provinces in the Zone. Amen.
