Opportunities for Education
‘These commandments that I give to you today are to be on your hearts.
Impress them on your children’
(Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
The first and most important school is the home.
Every day of our lives we are using the gifts of our parents,
whether given directly or by example. In the Christian home,
it is the responsibility of parents to teach the faith and to model it.
It is wonderful to read the scriptures with our children and teach them to pray.
The education given by our schools is obviously immensely important
and we should pray for teachers and Principals.
But parents are the first educators.
Question for self: Am I teaching the faith to the young people in my life?
There are many challenges to family life in Vanuatu including adultery, family breakdowns,
teenage pregnancies and drug and alcohol abuse.
Pray for Mothers Union members as they support families facing these issues
along with giving help and aid in cyclone disasters.
We pray too, for the faithful members in the Diocese of Tasmania.
May they be encouraged as they care for those in need. Amen
