Work of Reconciliation
‘God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.
And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.’
(2 Corinthians 5:19).
God is the great reconciler, bringing us back to him though the Lord Jesus Christ.
Just as those who trust him are forgiven, however, we too must forgive, as Jesus taught.
Human reconciliation starts with God and what he has done for us.
That is why he has committed to us ‘the message of reconciliation’
the message that God’s forgiveness is available to those who turn to him.
This is such good news – and it inspires us to forgive others and seek peace between us.
Question for thought: Am I forgiven, and do I forgive others?
Loving God, we thank you that the Christian message came to Burundi with the East African Revival in 1934
and that the Mothers Union has been involved with Literacy and Financial Education for over twenty years.
We pray for its ongoing impact and for members in Buye diocese as they help people
to learn to read the Bible and encourage parents to be involved in the parenting program. Amen
