Love and Service
‘Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.’
(1 John 3:18)
Sometimes, of course, words and speech are exactly how we love as we comfort the grieving, for example.
But if our love for others stops there, or is mere outward display, it is not the love which God inspires.
By his love he sent his Son into the world to save us. He acted.
So too, our love, if it is real, will show itself in the care we have for others in our street,
in our church, in our nation, in the world.
Question for thought: Am I a loving person?
Loving God in your mercy bring peace to Myanmar in these troubled times.
We give thanks for the faithfulness of members in Yangon, their love for you and their desire to study your word.
Protect them we pray, strengthen their courage and help them to continue to reach out to their community
with your love as they care and support their many needs, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
